Communication is the exchange of information and ideas.
We ALL use multiple modes of communication in our day to day lives.
Some different modes of communication include:
- Speech
- Telephone
- Body language
- Text messaging
- Vocalizations
- Expressions
- Gesture
A successful Augmentative Communication system may consist of many modes (high tech, low tech, gestures, vocalizations etc). Low tech is an important part of a complete AAC System.
