About the Author

Margaret Cotts is an Assistive Technology Specialist with over 10 years experience providing augmentative communication services to people with ALS. She provided AAC services at the ALS Center at UCSF , a multi-disciplinary clinic devoted to ALS care, treatment and research.

Margaret’s turn-ons include long walks on the beach and adapted laser pointers. Turn-offs include people who speak LOUDLY and
s-l-o-w-l-y to folks who have a speech disability.

Margaret holds a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Engineering Technology from San Francisco State University. She is a longstanding member of RESNA (Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America.)
